Mission Statement
The Elizabeth Lulu Scholarship Foundation was
founded in 2006 after Elizabeth Lulu
passed away at age 13 due to complications from Cystic Fibrosis.
Cystic Fibrosis is the number one genetic killer of children in
the United States. Another unfortunate result of the disease is
that children with CF often abandon their education believing that
the disease will end their lives before adulthood, rendering education
unnecessary. This foundation grew out of the realization that many
teens with Cystic Fibrosis need extra incentives to continue a
course of education. The
ELSF awards money to teens diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as an
extra motivation to continue their individual educational goals.
The ELSF was founded to honor the memory of Elizabeth, who fought
gallantly against the disease and never let her diagnosis define
her life. Our goal is to provide, in her memory, the inspiration
and stimulus for children afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis to form
and complete their educational goals in spite of the disease.
Update: ELSF has awarded four scholarships in two years. Check out News and Events for details. |
